hist1.jpg (54708 bytes)Rundle-Spence Mfg. Co. was founded in 1871 by Thomas M. Spence and Joseph P. Rundle. They foresaw a future in the manufacture of plumbing supplies which included china and enameled iron fixtures, wash sinks and drinking fountains. Mr. Spence was an executive of the company until the time of his death at age 81. Ownership of Rundle-Spence passed exclusively to the Spence family in 1900 when Rundle sold out. Two sons, Thomas M. Spence, Vice-President and Edmund R. Spence, Secretary-Treasurer, took over leadership at that time.

The company was originally located at 445 N. Fourth Street in Milwaukee. Due to relocation of the Milwaukee Road Depot and expressway construction, the company moved to a 10-acre tract of land at 2075 S. Moorland Road in New Berlin in 1965. Rundle-Spence was the first business in the New Berlin Industrial Park. hist1a.jpg (54600 bytes)
